About the author
Amanda Wright

Amanda had a very traumatic childhood as her mother died tragically when she was only 4 years old. She went on to have a difficult childhood but somehow managed to make it through. As an adult she chose to work with children running an after-school child-care provision (Strathmore Fun Club) where she encouraged children to extend their learning through different play activities so that the children in her care could enhance their physical development, imagination, creativity, social skills. independence and free-thinking.
She has two grown up daughters of her own (Susanna and Isabelle). When her daughters were young, she would read to them every night before bedtime. Particular favourites were books by Roald Dahl, Julia Donaldson and Jacqueline Wilson. It was meant to be a chapter a night but would soon go up to two or three chapters as the girls wouldn’t want her to stop reading these exciting children’s story books.
Amanda went on to publish her own life story, a nonfiction book called ‘Without a mother’s love’.
She has been on Television and spoke openly about her traumatic childhood and how facing her fears helped her to help others.
Amanda has secretly written lots of children stories over the years in private and only telling her daughters. This is her first ever published children’s story book.
She hopes you enjoy it.
